My little boat is empty it don't row row row - Nick Cave (taken out of context) I like this metaphor of the boat as a the love relationship... There is nothing left to write there is noting left that one can do but sit back and see where the currents take you or where you will be stranded (this is what this quote means to me again out of context)... There is another song that deals with a similar metaphor... I will go down with this ship, I won't put my arms up and surrender, there will be no white flag on my door... - Dido. Strange combination but non the less there it is both dealing with ocean fairing.
This weekend i spend a bit of time wondering about these two phrases and how they relate to each other... I guess both deals with the notion of the broken or sinking love, in both i think that the two authors haven given up they are still writing the love letters and most importantly they still hope... It seems a bit melodramatic that both will not give up but what if???? what if by some divine intervention or miracle something happens that saves the lover and reunites them with the lost ones...
Is this hope idiotic is this love foolish... not to give up on someone... we all have at some point or another given up hope and jumped ship only to land in the water anyway...
Or does it have to do with the notion of honour and commitment that we see so little of today???
And in this case i mean a commitment to something bigger than the self...
So I guess all that is left is to carry on writing my love letters and hope they do as i hope and pray...

Yes commitment is a reraty in this day and age! There is a hand full of people who still belive in comitment and also spend a live time surching for it,thats why one must appreciate it when it knock's on your door and embrace it!
Love has more then one "face"
Love for a soul mate, one's partner, one's lover, one's friend or the the loved one we are still surching for!
ps;was good to c u on Sunday!
"ghost & steve"
now here is a question - what if you are commited and the other party isnt? should one give up hope or should one keep the faith as knights did with their unequated love.... shouls on love even it your love will never be returned?
SHIT YES,IT IS ALL PART OF SURCHING FOR THE "HOLLY GRAIL"
OR FINDING THE LOST TRESURE
not quite the Holy grail thing but close it is more about falling in love but never expecting the love to be returned... i mean the Holy grail is great and all but it is the love that one has for someone els that is even greater and not always the love they have for you... mmmmm i winder sometimes
a thoght, waht if love is when you cannot live with out some one? ?
well that is a good question but I think that for love to be true you should be able to live without someone... you need to be complete in yourself otherwise the other person is just a hole filler and then it is more about need and not want... and need relates to addiction which is never good. I believe love should be about want... anyway hoe was die musiek fees... jou goeie boerseun...
robbie wessels rocked the saturday night,it was bluddy freezing and as per usual i drank to much!
uther wise i enjoyed my first afrikaans music festival!how was doors?

my answer is "yes", i do feel foolish for not giving up on someone i should've a long time ago.
commitment, in the end, is a foolish action. only when reciprocated can some of the foolishness dissolve.
anonymous i dont think that you should feel stupid!!!! there are very few people that is willing to stick it out till the end... And those that do i beliefe are the ones that truly understand love not only in the joy aspect but in the pain and sorrow of love and thus it is these people in my oppinion that truely experiance love... So good for you!!!!
anyway there will be a new post on its way very soon...
Good words.
